Installing add-ons is fairly straightforward. You can use the WordPress Dashboard or FTP.
Using the WordPress Dashboard #
This is probably the easiest way to install the plugin.
- Download the add-on from your Your Account.
- Navigate to the site where you’d like to install it and log in to the WordPress Dashboard.
- Go to the Plugins page and click on the “Add New” button.
- Select the “Upload” tab just underneath the page title.
- Click on the “Choose File” button and navigate to where you downloaded the add-on on your computer.
- Click “Install Now” to install the add-on.
- After it’s installed, click the option to activate the plugin.
Using FTP #
If you’re more comfortable using FTP, then this is the way to go.
- Download the add-on from your Your Account.
- Extract the file to your computer.
- Open your favorite FTP client and connect to your site.
- Upload the add-on directory to the
wp-content/plugins
directory on the remote server. - Navigate to the site where you’d like to install it and log in to the WordPress Dashboard.
- Go to the Plugins page and click the “Activate” link next to the add-on.
